About
Free movies for Princeton students. Most weekends. At the Garden.

USG Movies is the Undergraduate Student Government committee that picks the films, books the screens, and keeps every showing free.
Most Friday and Saturday nights during the semester, you'll find us at The Garden Theatre on Nassau Street: one or two movies a week, and when something big opens, sometimes the same one both nights.
Beyond the Garden, we put on outdoor movies, community events, and the occasional advance screening. Past early looks have included Saltburn, The Boy and the Heron, and All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt.
FAQs
Who can come?
USG Movies showings are for Princeton students. Bring your PUID. That's your ticket.
What does it cost?
Nothing. Showings are free, and there's often free popcorn and soda while supplies last.
Do I need to reserve a seat?
Usually not. Regular showings are first come, first seated, so come a little early for big releases. We're starting a new policy to keep the line fair: you get a numbered sticker when you join it, and we seat in number order, so nobody can cut. Advance screenings sometimes need registration ahead of time; when they do, we'll say so on the listing and on Instagram.
Where is it?
The Garden Theatre, 160 Nassau Street, right across from campus. Some events, like outdoor movies, happen elsewhere; the listing always says where.
How do you pick the films?
The committee programs a mix: new releases, advance screenings, crowd-pleasers, and things we think deserve a big screen.
How do I get involved?
Applications typically open at the start of each semester, so be on the lookout for an email.
